WOYWW, Lemon Curd

I thought I would do another recipe poster to go along with the salad one I did last week. This is my recipe for Lemon Curd and I have to say that it is the best Lemon Curd I've ever tasted. I love Lemon Curd. I love painting. It was only a matter of time before I combined the two.

As always this is available as a print or a card.

Submitting this for this weeks WOYWW as well. Pop on over to Stamping Grounds to see the rest! Thanks for looking!

Sunday Sketches . . . Leave a Trail

Here's my offering for this week's Sunday Sketches. "Leave a Trail." I'm quite happy with the way this little graduate turned out. I think I will have to do a boy graduate to go along with her.

It reminds me of going back to Canada about 6 years ago to my son's graduation. Of course it has been many years since I graduated from highschool. I'm not going to tell you how many, but it's over 40! Anyways, I was so surprised at how much highschool graduations had changed since I had graduated. I really enjoyed the experience to be sure. Another proud mama moment!

Anyways, as usual this is available as a card or a print for your favourite graduate.

Paint Party Friday . . . food for the tumtum

Here's a little something I did yesterday, which is quite a departure from what I usually do. A recipe painting. I had a lot of fun doing it. I suppose it was only a matter of time before my two loves of cooking and painting merged! I think I may do some more like this at some stage. I quite enjoyed it. As usual available as a print or a card.

Do hop on over to Paint Party Friday to check out all the other beautiful talent that is being shared today! Thanks for looking!

WOYWW, Joy Cometh in the Morning

This is what's on my worktop today. A little watercolour based on one of my favourite scriptures. I have had a definite fairy/balloon thing going lately. I guess I just like things that fly and make me smile. Fairies and balloons both do that for me.

Hope on over to The Stamping Ground to see what's on everyone else's work top today. The talent displayed is truly amazing!

Sunday Sketches . . . Life's Daring Adventure . . .

You get two for one here on my Sunday Sketches this week. First up a little fairy blowing along a landscape via a red spotted toadstool. She's off on a grande adventure! I have always loved fairies and red spotted toadstools. It seems only natural to put the two together.

And then there is this one, the smallest things. I get so much joy out of the smallest things . . . a cheery smile, a kind word, the touch of a caring hand, a bouquet of wild flowers, a bit yellow balloon.

Hop on over to the Blue Chair Diaries and catch up on all the other Sunday Sketches. You won't be sorry!

Once again, these pieces of mine are available as prints or cards. Just leave a comment if you wish to know more. Thanks for looking!

WOYWW, What We Love

Nothing much has changed on my desktop this week. Still looks the same, except that there's a new painting on it. What We Love.

This is a quote from President Dieter F Uchtdorf which reads:

"What we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think. What we think determines what we become."

It's one of my favourite quotes from President Uchtdorf.

This is a close up of some of the detail on the robin and on the fairy and blossoms. I did this in watercolours, using watercolour pencils. I think it turned out rather nicely.

Added to this week's WOYWW. Check out all the other entries HERE! There is some fabulous talent out there. I am always so amazed by it all!

Sunday Sketches . . . She Believed She Could

This is my Sunday Sketches entry for this week. I did this the other afternoon, using a variety of techniques. The Background is done in watercolour, which I threw a mixture of fine and large grained salt on before it dried, which gives it that lovely textured look. I quite like the effect. Once it is dried, I brush all the salt off. The rest of the piece is done with copic markers, which is one of my favourite mediums to use. Kind of like colouring I guess, but there is a right way and a wrong way to use them. I've also used chalked to give the glow from the moon in the night sky and the leaves on the tree branches and little night moths are rubber stamped. The lettering is done via Picassa, using one of the fonts that I have on there. All in all I am quite happy with this. As usual this is available as a print or as a card. Just message me to find out more.

And do go on over to the Sunday Sketches page to check out all of the other lovely entries for the week!

WOYWW, ATC's

I thought I would bite the bullet and actually show you the space that I work in. My husband marvels that I manage to get anything at all done in here, but this, folks . . . is where the magic happens! (I also have to cook in a similarily minute space, but that's a story for another day!)

As you can see, even on my best days, I only have about a 12 inch square space to work in . . . the rest being taken up with supplies. (Acrylics, Watercolours, Ganache, Pencils, Markers, etc.) Oh and of course I save all my bits of scrap paper etc. They come in handy for all sorts, and I do love ME so her yearly calendar always has a spot where it looks down on what I am doing and hopefully giving me a thumbs up!

Music is also very present in my creation process. I have my favourites to inspire to to urge me on . . . sometimes my space is neater than this, and sometimes not. It all depends on what creative urge is taking me. Sometimes I just have to get it down onto paper as soon as I can before my inspiration leaves . . . and I know I am not alone in this. And what's on my worktop today???

Some colourful little ATC's, which I am really enjoying playing with. They're quite a lot of fun to do. Small, simple and colourful. The size of a credit card, they are also challenging.

Hope on over to the Stamping Ground to see what's on everyone else's worktop! They are such a very talented bunch!

Thanks for looking!

Sunday Sketches . . . Spring

Here is my post this week for Sunday Sketches. It's a little girl watching some babybirds in a nest in a tree. Yes, Spring has sprung! We've been enjoying gorgeous weather here and the birds have been nesting. Pollywogs have come to life and all the daffodils are in bloom! I just love Spring in England. All the trees are taking on that green flush of early leaf and early blossoms are taking over gardens . . . the forsythia, camelia, early cherry. Oh how very pretty it all is! Tis the season of hope.

As usual this is available as a card or a print. Just message me if you are interested. Thanks for looking, and why not hop on over to The Blue Chair Diaries to check out the other Sunday Sketches! There's a whole lot of talent there! You will be amazed and enthralled!

Paint Party Friday

This is my first time participating in Paint Party Friday. I'm trying to participate more in art blogs. There is an incredible amount of talent out there and I am really enjoying it so very much! This is a piece I did a little while back. I know that some people really dislike their freckles, but I have always thought them to be one of the most endearing parts of the human face. A face without freckles is indeed like a sky without stars!

As always this is available as a print or a card. Know anyone with freckles that would appreciate the sentiment?? I bet they would love this.

I also wanted to show you my latest piece, which is quite a departure from what I usually do. In black and white, not colour . . . I think it has come across as quite dramatic and I quite like it. This, too, is available as a print or card and let me tell you, the print is absolutely fabulous if I don't say so myself. I think I am going to more in black and white in the future. I really do like it.

Hop on over to the Paint Party Friday blog to see what everyone else is up to! There's an incredible amount of talent there!

The Lord's Promise, WOYWW

I was thinking of Easter yesterday and Spring, being as it was the first day of Spring . . . this is what came to mind. A little girl in her Easter finery, daffodils by her feet, holding a small, pure and innocent lamb . . .

Very symbolic of the Easter season. I think t'would make a beautiful Easter Card . . . and would also look beautiful framed and hung as a reminder of all that the Saviour did for us.

Message me if you are interested in a card or a print. I'll be happy to oblidge.

Thanks so much for looking!

I have entered this into this week's What's on Your Work Desk. Pop on over HERE to see some other great stuff that's on other people's work desks!

Once You Choose Hope

This is this week's entry into the Sunday Sketches. I am a great believer in hope, as you know. It is the driving force in my life. Where would any of us be without it!

This reminds me of the 13th Article of Faith in my church:

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, iovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

As usual this is available as a print or as a card! Thanks for looking!

This is my entry for this week's Sunday Sketches, hosted every Sunday over on The Blue Chair Diary blog. Click on the picture to go and have a look at some other fabulous artwork!

You are my happy . . .

My latest piece. I love the colours I chose for this one. I have always wanted a pair of red shoes. Red is happy to me. But this is about more than shoes.

People are my happy, especially the "special" people in my life. You know who you are.
(Oops just noticed I have dated this 2011, it isn't. It's 2012. Doh!!)

Available as a print or a card as always.

Putting this in on the Sunday Sketches. Click on the tree to see some more great artists!

Spring makes me think of balloons.

I have balloons on the mind lately it seems. I did this little gal the other day. I fell in love with her right away. That usually doesn't happen. It usually takes a few days for me to fall in love with my pictures.

I love the idea of sunshine balloons that you can carry with you wherever you go. It just makes so much sense to me! I bet everyone you gave one to would have a hard time not smiling!!

Anyways, these are my two newest designs and are as usual available as cards or prints or both! Thanks for looking!

Happiness Was Meant to be Shared

It is only in the sharing of our happiness that we can begin to feel it in full measure. Happiness shared seems to multiply!

Love the cheeky expression on her face. Not sure what the dog is thinking . . . but his tail is wagging, so it can't be that bad!

Available as a card or a print. Just message me to find out how.

Sharing this is Sunday Sketches. My very first time! See you there!
