Sunday Sketches . . . Wither Thou Goest

I think that Ruth 1:16 has to be one of my favourite scriptures.  It speaks to the heart in me and I was feeling very inspired when I did this little painting the other day.  I have a real heart also too for the Amish and their simple ways.  I have always admired them their simplistic and honest view of life.  It is my dream to one day visit "Amish country" . . . who knows if that dream will ever come true, but for now I visit with them in my heart.

In any case this is my entry for this week's Sunday Sketches.  Do hop on over to the Blue Chair Diaries to see some more.  There are really some incredibly talented people out there.  There truly are.

Thanks for looking!

Sunday Sketches . . . Leave a Trail

Here's my offering for this week's Sunday Sketches. "Leave a Trail." I'm quite happy with the way this little graduate turned out. I think I will have to do a boy graduate to go along with her.

It reminds me of going back to Canada about 6 years ago to my son's graduation. Of course it has been many years since I graduated from highschool. I'm not going to tell you how many, but it's over 40! Anyways, I was so surprised at how much highschool graduations had changed since I had graduated. I really enjoyed the experience to be sure. Another proud mama moment!

Anyways, as usual this is available as a card or a print for your favourite graduate.

Do hop on over to the Blue Chair Diaries and take a look at the other talent that's out there today! Thanks for looking!

Sunday Sketches . . . Life's Daring Adventure . . .

You get two for one here on my Sunday Sketches this week. First up a little fairy blowing along a landscape via a red spotted toadstool. She's off on a grande adventure! I have always loved fairies and red spotted toadstools. It seems only natural to put the two together.

And then there is this one, the smallest things. I get so much joy out of the smallest things . . . a cheery smile, a kind word, the touch of a caring hand, a bouquet of wild flowers, a bit yellow balloon.

Hop on over to the Blue Chair Diaries and catch up on all the other Sunday Sketches. You won't be sorry!

Once again, these pieces of mine are available as prints or cards. Just leave a comment if you wish to know more. Thanks for looking!

Sunday Sketches . . . She Believed She Could

This is my Sunday Sketches entry for this week. I did this the other afternoon, using a variety of techniques. The Background is done in watercolour, which I threw a mixture of fine and large grained salt on before it dried, which gives it that lovely textured look. I quite like the effect. Once it is dried, I brush all the salt off. The rest of the piece is done with copic markers, which is one of my favourite mediums to use. Kind of like colouring I guess, but there is a right way and a wrong way to use them. I've also used chalked to give the glow from the moon in the night sky and the leaves on the tree branches and little night moths are rubber stamped. The lettering is done via Picassa, using one of the fonts that I have on there. All in all I am quite happy with this. As usual this is available as a print or as a card. Just message me to find out more.

And do go on over to the Sunday Sketches page to check out all of the other lovely entries for the week!

Sunday Sketches . . . Spring

Here is my post this week for Sunday Sketches. It's a little girl watching some babybirds in a nest in a tree. Yes, Spring has sprung! We've been enjoying gorgeous weather here and the birds have been nesting. Pollywogs have come to life and all the daffodils are in bloom! I just love Spring in England. All the trees are taking on that green flush of early leaf and early blossoms are taking over gardens . . . the forsythia, camelia, early cherry. Oh how very pretty it all is! Tis the season of hope.

As usual this is available as a card or a print. Just message me if you are interested. Thanks for looking, and why not hop on over to The Blue Chair Diaries to check out the other Sunday Sketches! There's a whole lot of talent there! You will be amazed and enthralled!

Once You Choose Hope

This is this week's entry into the Sunday Sketches. I am a great believer in hope, as you know. It is the driving force in my life. Where would any of us be without it!

This reminds me of the 13th Article of Faith in my church:

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, iovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

As usual this is available as a print or as a card! Thanks for looking!
